CBS², a leading engineering and design firm, was selected to spearhead the CTH CB expansion and reconstruction project in Winnebago County. This ambitious project involved the conversion of a two-lane roadway into a four-lane urban thoroughfare, with a comprehensive set of improvements, including new pavement, curb and gutter, storm sewer, streetlighting, traffic signals, medians, sidewalks, and a stream crossing.
The CTH CB expansion and reconstruction project stands as a testament to CBS²'s expertise in providing innovative design solutions that meet the needs of a dynamic and growing community, while also demonstrating their ability to overcome complex challenges and execute projects with precision.
CBS² delivered unparalleled design services and construction observation for all phases of the project, as well as construction staking services, ensuring a smooth and seamless execution of the project. However, the successful completion of the project was not without its challenges, as significant coordination was required during the development phase due to other commercial and highway improvements happening nearby.
In addition to the CTH CB expansion, an insurance company, Secura Corporation, concurrently built a new 300,000 square foot facility as their corporate office. Furthermore, a roundabout was also constructed on CTH CB, adding to the complexity of the project. Despite these obstacles, CBS²'s team rose to the occasion, showcasing their exceptional project management and communication skills to ensure that all work proceeded without delay.
